Dr. Joey Vest grew up in the North Texas area and worked for Russell Equine Veterinary Services (which eventually became Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals – Stephenville) before and after graduation from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He eventually returned to TAMU where he studied reproductive medicine and surgery and achieved board certification in Theriogenology. Joey is also board-certified in Equine Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
Joey married Linette and settled in Magnolia where he built a solo ambulatory reproductive practice. He has steadily established himself as a leading voice on reproduction in the area and will allow Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals – Navasota to expand further the advanced reproductive services we offer:
- Embryo donor and recipient management
- Semen freezing, both domestic and international transportation
- Oocyte harvest
- Management of subfertile mares
- Management of subfertile stallions
- Reproductive medicine
- Reproductive surgery
Dr. Vest has also managed a distinguished military career as an US Army Veterinary Corps Officer for the past 17 years. He is a graduate of the United States Army War College, earning his Master’s degree in Strategic Studies in 2017 and promoted to Colonel in 2018. He has travelled extensively during his military career, leading humanitarian animal missions and food safety operations around the world. He currently serves as the Senior Veterinarian for the 3rd Medical Command, Fort Gillem, Georgia.
Joey and Linette currently have two children in college and two girls at home. When they can, Joey and Linette enjoy spending time at the beach, fishing, and watching their children excel in all they do!
