Growing up on the family ranch in Northern California, Amanda was very involved with 4-H from a young age. Her family raised quarter horses, cattle and show sheep. With a background in the agricultural, livestock and horse industries, Amanda was always surrounded by people who were passionate about their careers and made their work their lifestyle, being fortunate to have many friends who were veterinarians and mentors inspired her to become an equine veterinarian. Amanda attended UC Davis College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her internship at Comstock Equine Hospital in Reno, Nevada. Following her internship, Amanda completed a three-year equine surgical residency at Oklahoma State University. Joining BVEH in the fall of 2020, Amanda is excited to explore her professional interests including soft tissue surgery, non-invasive surgery, critical care, lameness, and sports medicine.
