Dr. Kurt Heite, DVM

Dr. Kurt Heite loves the relationships he has built with his clients and gets tremendous pride seeing them do well. As a native New Mexican and a graduate of Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Heite has seen many styles of practice. He spent several years as a race track practitioner before moving to Texas and eventually establishing his practice in Tomball.

In February of 2017, Dr. Heite joined the Brazos Valley Equine Hospitals team and runs the outpatient center in Tomball. He has been instrumental in the development and design of the new mobile Sports Medicine trailer that will travel to shows nationally. Although most his clientele ride Hunter Jumpers and Dressage, Dr. Heite works on all breeds and disciplines. He has helped clients at all the National Shows from the Quarter Horse Congress to the NRHS Derby and the NCHA Futurity. Dr. Heite is a FEI certified veterinarian and specializes in lameness and performance problems.

When he is not working, he is most likely helping his wife, Nada Wise who is a elite Sport Horse traniner locally. Dr. Kurt Heite has also been involved in writing numerous articles for such magazines as The Practical Horseman, Horse and Rider and The Horse on a variety of equine health related topics. Recently he collaborated on Be a Smart Horse Buyer, a book written by Bob Avalla where Heite address pre-purchase exams.
