Interns

Dr. Gabriela Arroyo is a 2011 graduate of Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. She came to the US in 2011 to pursue equine externships with boarded specialists. Gabi completed a Medicine Fellowship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky in the spring of 2012. Gabi-Gabi has a particular interest in ultrasonography, critical patient care, neonates and emergency medicine.

Dr. Danielle Bergan is a 2012 veterinary graduate of Western University. Danielle is originally from California and has experience in equine critical care from her time as a full-time ICU technician at the University of California, Davis prior to veterinary school. Danielle has an interest in equine reproduction and is planning on applying to residencies following the internship. She grew up with Arabian show horses and enjoys relaxing on her weekends off by riding her horse.

Dr. Emily McDonald is a native Tennessean and a 2012 veterinary graduate of the University of Tennessee (GO VOLS!). She attended Middle Tennessee State University for undergraduate school. E.Mac, as we call her, is interested in all aspects of equine practice, but her passions are for lameness, podiatry, and reproduction. Emily got her start with hunters/jumpers and Tennessee Walking horses, and hopes to become a partner in a private equine practice after completing her internship. Outside of veterinary medicine, she loves US history, traveling, and spending time with her fiancÚ, family, and friends.
