Jay Bickers, DVM

Dr. R. Jay Bickers graduated from Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Soon after, Dr. Bickers worked in a private practice for several years before he accepted a fellowship at Oregon State University. In 2002, Dr. Bickers became a board certified large animal surgeon after completing a three year surgical residency at the University of Tennessee. While at the University of Tennessee, he also assisted in developing the Emergency and Critical Care department as the first emergency clinician. Dr. Bickers began working for BVEH at the end of 2006 at the Stephenville hospital. His clinical interests include:

  • Lameness
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Colic surgery
  • Chiropractic therapy
  • Acupuncture therapy
  • Laser surgery

In his spare time, Dr. Bickers enjoys working with his wife, Rhonda, and their two boys around their yard and pasture. He also enjoys playing the guitar and chasing cows.
